What is the Security Deposit Insurance?
The Security Deposit Insurance is an insurance policy that allows the renter to be refunded for any debit made to their security deposit as a result of accidental damage.
This insurance is available to all Swikly users when renting accommodation or vehicles (cars and boats) after their deposit has been made.
After signing up, the renter receives an e-mail confirming his or her subscription to the Security Deposit Insurance, with a contract number to keep, all the necessary documents (contract, IPID and information leaflet) and a link to declare a damage during the rental period.
How much does the Security Deposit Insurance cost?
The cost of Security Deposit Insurance is calculated based on the amount of the security deposit requested and the rental period. It equals 0.8% of the deposit amount, per rental day.
What are the reasons covered by the Security Deposit Insurance?
By subscribing to the Security Deposit Insurance, renters are covered for accidental damage occurring during the rental period. Non-accidental damage caused by a party or subletting, as well as additional cleaning costs, are excluded.
Details of the list of exclusions are given in the Information Leaflet sent to the renter following the purchase of the policy.
How does the client get his security deposit refunded?
If accidental damages occur during the rental period, and the deposit is debited, the renter must make a claim in order to be refunded.
To report any damage, the renter simply needs to click on the link in the email confirming their purchase of the Security Deposit Insurance.
The renter will then be redirected to the damage declaration portal, where they will be asked to provide the refund amount and the IBAN for the transfer.
